Among the most important realities in all of Tuscany, the Ruffino company was born in the second half of the nineteenth century, in 1877 to be precise, when the cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino decide to join forces to start the production of typical wines of the Florentine hills. The historic winery was born in Pontassieve, a few kilometers from Florence. With its growing fame and ever greater success, over time the Ruffino has grown by acquiring some estates in the most important and representative areas of Tuscan wine, from the Sienese Hills to Chianti Classico, up to Montalcino. Synonymous with Chianti, Ruffino has distinguished itself for decades for the marketing, all over the world, of the characteristic flask, a container that has long been identified with the whole region and that today the company has decided to propose again in a particularly innovative guise . Currently the company consists of six different estates, which respond to the names of Poggio Casciano, Montemasso, Santedame, Gretole, Greppone Mazzi and La Solatia. Six different possessions in equally distinct geographical areas of Tuscany, but at the same time six estates in which a rigid and rigorous philosophy is carefully followed, so that between the rows the plants are cared for with the utmost respect for what is the balance of the environment, nature and ecosystem. In the cellar we find just as much meticulousness, and history and the most ancient winemaking traditions are perfectly combined with the most modern and innovative enological technologies. The ultimate goal is always one and only one, aimed at obtaining the highest expression of what the season and the territory have shaped in the fruit. This is how all the “Ruffino” labels were born, synonymous with a reality capable of synthesizing the contemporaneity of Tuscan wine in a succession of always excellent white and red wines.
