Although Chianti wine it's a DOCG since 1984 and in particular the sub-zone Chianti Classico since 1996, the first traces of the use of the word "Chianti" to identify an area of Toscany, and the wine produced there, go back to 1200.

Today the production of this important wine of the Tuscan tradition, is ruled by a straight disciplinary of laws and supervised by the Chianti Classico Union, that identifies the best Chianti Classico wines of the region with the icon of a black rooster.

Made with minimum 80% of Sangiovese grapes and maximum 20% of other red grapes, this wine can be well combined with roasted pork, chicken, game and cheeses.

The serving temperature is between 16 and 18°C, and it is recommanded to open the bottle 1 or 2 hours before pouring the wine in the glasses
