Few other Italian wineries can be identified with a territory and its history as the Fattoria dei Barbi in Montalcino. A special reality, which has always been the guardian of tradition and at the same time a pioneer and attentive to the best innovations. Suffice it to say that it was the first winery to export Brunello to France and the United States, in 1817 and 1962, or the first to vinify one of those reds that would later be identified as "Super Tuscan", the Brusco dei Barbi in 1969. It is no coincidence: the Colombini family and Fattoria dei Barbi's philosophy has always been to know and study the most innovative technology and marry it with the best tradition, to improve everything produced without ever altering its typicality. Today the Fattoria dei Barbi extends for 306 hectares between Montalcino and Scansano, 66 of which are vineyards, for a production of Brunello di Montalcino that reaches almost 200,000 bottles. Reds of absolute value, able to tell the best characteristics of the denomination thanks to a complexity, elegance and longevity with few equals. Brunello di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Brunello di Montalcino “Vigna del Fiore”: wines that over the decades have established themselves as symbolic labels of Montalcino.
