Founded in 1999 and sold in 2016, Tenuta Argentiera represented (if you like) the launch pad of the brothers Corrado and Marcello Fratini in the wine world. After having sold, precisely Tenuta Argentiera, to the Austrian entrepreneur Stanislaus Turnauner, the two brothers immediately got back on track with a new project, which today responds to the name of "Tenuta Hortense". 1100 hectares in total, of which ten are planted with vineyards: the panorama is always that of Bolgheri, so we are located in Castagneto Carducci, in the municipality of Donoratico, where the vine varieties typical of the Bordeaux, such as cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Among all the available area, the choice of the ten hectares of vines was not at all casual, but considered thanks also to the help of expert consultants of the caliber of Eric Boissenot, collaborator of important Bordeaux chateaux, such as Lafite-Rothschild, Margaux and Mouton-Rothschild, and Emiliano Falsini, consultant of important Italian companies belonging to the territories of Barolo and Etna.Between the rows, everything has been set with the utmost attention, so with the utmost respect for the environment, nature, ecosystem and biodiversity, the individual plots can enjoy cutting-edge irrigation systems, and every single plant is treated with extreme meticulousness. After the harvest, carried out exclusively by hand, the grapes arrive in the cellar to be vinified and left to ferment exclusively by indigenous yeasts alone. Subsequently, the aging is carried out in oak tonneau. In this way, bottles capable of touching the most other qualitative standards come to life: wines that tell all that is the extraordinary excellence of the Bolgheri territory.
