Gaja's Barbaresco Costa Russi is a wine obtained from the homonymous vineyard located in the municipality of Barbaresco. The name is the result of the union between the Piedmontese dialect term Costa, which indicates the slope of a hill with the best exposure towards the south, and the name of the old owner of the vineyard, "Russi", from which Angelo Gaja produces this great wine .

The Barbaresco Costa Russi comes from Nebbiolo grapes, manually harvested and carefully fermented in steel vats; afterwards, the wine is aged in barrique for 12 months, to then mature in large barrels for another 12 months, in order to bring out the best aromas and scents.

This exceptional wine has a garnet red color with elegant orange reflections. The nose is a triumph: violet and medicinal herbs, roasted coffee notes, currants and ripe plums ennobled by memories of mint chocolate. On the palate the wine is intriguing and robust, rich and with a deep structure, with mineral references, savory and with a great tannic persistence.
