Marchesi di Barolo "Ruvei" is a blend of Barbera (85%) and Nebbiolo (15%) grapes, the native vines par excellence of the Piedmontese Langhe, grown in Guyot-grown vineyards, on soils composed mainly of clay and limestone, with presence of white marl. The unique characteristics of these soils give the wine a remarkably vigorous structure, but with a balanced character. Once in the cellar, the grapes are quickly de-stemmed and gently pressed. Vinification takes place in steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place and a maceration of about 8 days, during which frequent, but short-lasting pumping over is carried out, to ensure slow and qualitative chromatic and aromatic extraction. After racking, aging takes place in Slavonian oak barrels for about a year.

This Marchesi di Barolo red has an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose dominates fresh aromas of wild berries, blackberries and wild berries, with notes of jam and toasted hazelnuts. The taste is full and enveloping, characterized by a strong structure. In the mouth the typical freshness of Barbera emerges, delicately supported by the tannins of Nebbiolo. Overall the taste is harmonious, velvety, with a finish characterized by aromas of toasted wood and vanilla. A bottle that accompanies the whole meal, ideal with tasty appetizers based on meat and vegetables. It goes perfectly with hard cheeses.
