The origin of the Le Chiuse winery is very ancient: in fact, already in the 18th century, it was part of the Biondi Santi family; an idyllic vineyard, planted personally by Franco Biondi Santi, could in itself be enough to describe the quality of any Montalcino winery, but Fiorella and her daughter Simonetta have certainly been able to outdo themselves.
Le Chiuse is a winery that has been able to establish itself in the Tuscan and national wine scene thanks to the undisputed quality of its vineyards, the uniqueness and territoriality of its wines. After Fiorella's death in 1986, it was her daughter Simonetta Valiani who set up her own business and, together with her husband Nicolò Magnelli, began to readjust the farm. He built the cellar, replanted the vines and converted them to organic.
The road was uphill, but it was worth it: the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino have reached such a finesse that few can match.
The choice to produce only two wines, the choice to produce organically, the choice not to follow the fashions of the moment and the choice to keep the right prices: this is what makes this winery truly unique and special. A winery within everyone's reach, but extraordinary in its labels.
