The term Potazzine a Montalcino is used to refer to tits, lively little birds and colourful inhabitants of the Tuscan countryside; this is why Potazzine often becomes an affectionate appellative with which grandparents and parents address their little girls. In fact, it was the maternal grandmother who called Viola and Sofia, the daughters of Gigliola Giannetti.
The link with the two Potazzine is not only expressed by the name, but it can be found in the entire evolution of the winery, which began in 1993 with the birth of the first-born Viola and an extension of two hectares in 1996 with the arrival of Sofia, until it reached the 5 hectares of Brunello that the Estate boasts today.
