Riccardo and Jennifer Campinoti, today at the helm of the Le Ragnaie farm, have shown that they have clear ideas about the path that production in the cellar should follow, right from the first bottlings: derived from organic farming, their wines have taken on a profile rigorous, but original at the same time. The production scenario where the Le Ragnaie winery operates is that of the Passo del Lume Spento, which is the highest point in the entire Montalcino area, about 600 meters above sea level. The high altitude of the old vineyards of Le Ragnaie leads to postponed harvests compared to the standard of Montalcino, which are carried out in the second half of October, resulting in the production of wines with a very fine aromatic profile, which even recall the characteristics of Nordic viticulture.
The vineyards are planted exclusively with Sangiovese and, given the diversity of the land that the winery has available, they allow the production of wines that are always different from each other, but each a witness to its own terroir of origin.
However, the different characteristics of the area of origin, namely more finesse, freshness and elegance in Le Ragnaie and, instead, more power, warmth and flavor in the Pietroso vineyards, make the wines of the cellar unique in their kind and always different from each other.
