The scenery is that of the lands of Franciacorta, where the wine-growing and wine-producing tradition is really long lasting, and even dates back to Roman times. Along the southern shores of Lake Iseo, and bordered to the west by the river Oglio, you will find what can be considered one of the most prestigious Italian denominations for Classical Method bubbles. In an area rich in ancient castles and characterised by the presence of many noble palaces, churches and convents, it is in one of these historic country houses that, since 1974, the winery "Lo Sparviere", a Franciacorta winery located in Monticelli, has found its headquarters. It covers a total area of about 150 hectares, of which about thirty are currently planted with vines. With its modern history starting in the 70s, the company is considered one of the oldest wine-growing and wine-producing enterprises in the world, with the beginning of its activity documented as far back as 1526. Among the rows of vines, the varieties that are the masters are those of pinot noir and chardonnay, and the agronomic management follows the biological standards, so the vines are grown in full respect of the environment and ecosystem. In the cellar, the renovated premises make use of what is an architectural structure dating back to the 16th century, in whose main hall is depicted the coat of arms that today gives the company its name. After alcoholic fermentation, it is under the centuries-old vaults that the wines labelled "Lo Sparviere" start to become bubbles, giving birth to Brut, Extra Brut, Dosaggio Zero, Satèn, Rosè and Millesimati, which perfect their fragrance and mature their perlage for at least two years. Under the guidance of Ugo Gussalli Beretta, it is in this way that elegant and aromatic, refined and refined cuvées come to life, to be considered without a shadow of a doubt among the best that Franciacorta is able to offer at the moment.
