The Nuti family bought a small plot of land at the beginning of 1900, in the locality "La Regola" in the municipality of Riparbella (toponym present in the maps of the land registry of Florence in 1700), in order to cultivate some oil and some genuine wine for family consumption. From the small cellar under the house, which was called "cillieri", was born the first production of the cellar "la regola", in an "elongated" version of genuine and drinkable wine that counted 30 demijohns. In the area where the new wine cellar was recently built, remains of an ancient Etruscan settlement (7th century B.C.) and numerous wine amphorae have been found to testify to the vocation of this area for the cultivation of vines. The loose and draining soil, consisting mainly of Pliocene sands rich in shell fossils, with a percentage of clay, a stratification of rocks and minerals rich in iron and a sun exposure of the vine rows to the south-south-east, favours an optimal ripening of the grapes, allowing to obtain fine wines of structure and remarkable persistence.
