The advantages of this operation are evident: on the one hand, it is made possible for producers to monetize a part of the investment pending the maturation of Brunello, on the other, the possibility of downgrading Brunello di Montalcino which does not completely meet the DOCG standards is introduced without necessarily having to slide on the IGT (relapse DOC).Rosso di Montalcino is an intense ruby red wine, produced with the Sangiovese grape and appreciated for the intense and complex aromas of black cherries and berries, with tertiary notes of spices and vanilla due to aging in wooden barrels. Compared to his brother Maggiore Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino is fresher and easier to drink, while maintaining the character and structure of Sangiovese.
