The Terre Nere winery was founded in 1997 thanks to the passion and love for his land by Pasquale Vallone, who has always been attracted to the wine world thanks to the experiential background lived in his family. Located in the southeastern extremity of Montalcino, in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, the winery soon met the road to success, now also followed by Pasquale's children, Francesca and Federico.
Terre Nere owns ten hectares of Sangiovese grapes, with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, in a particularly suitable hilly area close to the Orcia river and Castello della Velona, with perfect ventilation regulated by the adjacent Monte Amiata. The name of the winery derives from the soils formed by marl and sandstone, rich in minerals, cultivated by Pasquale in full respect of nature, so much so that the cultivation regime is in the process of biological conversion.
In the Terre Nere winery, currently located in Pian delle Querci, it is vinified in steel vats after careful manual harvesting. The vines are also vinified separately to preserve the characteristics of the specific territory. The Brunello is then decanted into large Slavonian oak barrels, where it will rest for at least 3 years. Just Brunello, the top of Pasquale's range of wines, shows considerable depth and prospects for aging. Lovers of Sangiovese grapes will find softness, fruit and sweet tannins.
