We like this Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC “Arnione” from Campo alla Sughera for its dark and penetrating character. Obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes, grapes harvested by hand from the best soil particles, it undergoes an aging for 18 months in oak barrels and then a further refinement in the bottle for 24 months. A wine of great completeness and elegance.
The nose is fragrant and lively, with a sensation of crushed violets, freshly picked black currant, iodized notes, crushed stones, brambles, ivy and menthol. It is full-bodied and with a smooth tannic texture. The finish is long and juicy.
