The Brunello di Montalcino from the Le Ragnaie winery is a real oenological pearl of the Montacino area, generated by the passion and enthusiasm of the young Riccardo Campinoti, a native of Colle Val d'Elsa and head of the company since 2002. The production scenario is that of the Passo del Lume Spento, which is the highest point of the entire Montalcino area, at about 600 meters above sea level: the high altitude of the old vineyards of Le Ragnaie involves postponed harvests respecting the Montalcino standard, in the second mid-October, giving life to wines with a very fine aromatic profile that recall the characteristics of Nordic viticulture.

The 5 hectares used for the production of Brunello, facing south-west towards the sea and surrounded by uncultivated woods, boast over 40-year-old vines and are cultivated according to the dictates of organic agriculture. At Le Ragnaie no chemical synthesis product is added to the vineyard, while the practice of grassing is highly appreciated, which prevents surface erosion by favoring the absorption of water by the soil and constitutes an important habitat for many species of animals. and insects, ensuring the formation of an ecosystem full of life essential for the health of the vineyards.

In the cellar, the Brunello ferments in traditional concrete vats, with long macerations of about 40 days; the refinement lasts for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. In this way, Brunello de Le Ragnaie expresses the territorial richness of Montalcino with authority, but with an elegance and freshness typical of high altitude wines.

Live and permeable ruby ​​color. Strong hints of small fresh red fruits, with hints of vanilla and vegetal notes. The attack on the palate is warm, of great softness, innervated by textbook flavor and freshness. The very dynamic finish is admirable.
