Coming from a selection of Sangiovese grapes from a small vineyard located on a hilltop called Querceto. The south-west exposure and fruitful soil allow a perfect ripening of the Sangiovese grapes. In October, the best grapes are selected, picked by hand and put in baskets; later, the wine must is put in a traditional cement or steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Then, the Drugo is moved into big barrels made of medium toast French oak, of 2500 liters and 1000 liters where it is refined for 24 months till bottling time. The name Drugo, already used in this side of the countryside, refers to a strong man (a knight errant), very brave and talented; hence the character and unforgettable personality of this wine.
