Vigna del Sorbo 2020

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Vigna del Sorbo" is a full-bodied and concentrated red wine, produced from the historic vineyards of the Fontodi winery. All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes from their own vineyards, harvested by hand, carefully chosen and vinified in a way that enhances the character of the vines and the territory. The vines are grown organically, located in the municipality of Panzano in Chianti, in the province of Florence.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, with maceration, in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Aging for 24 months in Allier and Tronçais oak barriques follows, preceding bottling.
The "Vigna del Sorbo" Grand Selection announces itself to the eye with a bright ruby ​​red color, crossed by more garnet flashes in the nail. The nose is full of well-orchestrated aromas, in which notes of fruit and spices can be traced, from which a reference to violet also emerges. On the palate it is full-bodied, warm and penetrating, with a sip characterized by a savory and mineral taste; it closes with a remarkably persistent finish. A bottle with which the Fondodi winery is able to enhance both the vines used within the blend and the territory of origin, in a combination that is a guarantee of absolute quality.
