The Morellino di Scansano 'Roccapesta' wine from the winery of the same name is a pleasant Maremma red wine with an intense, Mediterranean soul that enhances the grape variety from which it comes, Sangiovese, to which a very small percentage of Ciliegiolo is added, thus reflecting the blends of tradition. A Morellino able to let you discover its structure even after 4 or 5 years, through more and more intriguing nuances.

The Morellino Roccapesta is made from grapes that reflect the winery's desire to be as sustainable as possible towards the environment, adopting less invasive processes and preferring the use of indigenous yeasts present on the skins of the same grapes to start alcoholic fermentation, which takes place inside steel vats with a maceration of at least 20 days without any filtration at the end of this process. The vintage wine that the winery considers most deserving and suitable for ageing is sent to the raising stage, thus becoming a "reserve"; following this perspective, a part of the precious fluid is placed inside large 500 and 600 litre barrels and ages for a few months and then continues its maturation inside the bottles, for a total of 36 months.

The Morellino 'Roccapesta' paints the glass of an intense ruby red. The olfactory sensation is stimulated primarily to the nose through sensations that recall the Mediterranean maquis, in particular through a typical hint of thyme and other typical aromatic herbs, all accompanied by notes of violet and delicate sweet spices. The palate is teased by a perfect sensation of roundness, which reveals an excellent balance and a subtle tannin that ends in a deep gustatory finish that enhances a floral aftertaste on the background
