Sangiovese 100%

The Rosso di Montalcino by Tenuta di Collosorbo announces itself from the very first moments as a wine with good structure and persistence, which lives in the glass thanks to a vibrant freshness, a characteristic that allows it a marked versatility on the table. Pure Sangiovese, the fruity varietal aromas are enhanced on the nose, where it is above all the red fruit to play the part of the protagonist. A label with which the winery, a leading production company in the Ilinese terroir, wins important awards both in Italian and foreign sector guides, where it is the critic James Suckling who is more than convinced of its potential.

This Rosso di Montalcino originates from pure Sangiovese grapes, the standard-bearer grape of the entire Tuscan viticulture. The vines of this variety grow with the double spurred cordon system. After the manual harvest, the Tenuta di Collesorbo proceeds with a soft destemming; the must obtained ferments spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, macerating with frequent pumping over. The subsequent refinement takes place for a period of 12 months, both in large Slavonian oak barrels and in barriques (for 5-10% of the total mass of the wine).

Collosorbo's Rosso di Montalcino reveals itself to the eye with a typically ruby color, with a nice concentration. Linear and well defined the range of perfumes that envelops the nostrils, characterized by mainly fruity and floral aromas. On the palate it is full-bodied, enveloping the palate thanks to a tannic texture finely integrated into the general structure, with a sip characterized by a refreshing and spicy taste. Elegant and versatile, it is a label that is appreciated both on more informal occasions and on important evenings. To combine with the great Tuscan meats of the regional culinary tradition.
