The Rosso di Montalcino of the Le Ragnaie company rissume the pregnant characteristics of the Sangiovese grape, cultivated here in one of the highest points of the Montalcino area at about 600 meters above sea level, within the vineyards of Lago, Fonte and Cappuccini. The high altitude gives the wines produced here an aromatic profile of great elegance, less muscular and finer than the canons of Montalcino.

The great virtues of Riccardo Campinuovi, based in Le Ragnaie since 2002, lie in a production philosophy attentive to the protection of the territory, with agricultural practices with low environmental impact without the use of herbicides or chemical fertilizers and with perennial grassing of the vineyards. In the cellar each procedure is aimed at the correct expression of the grape variety, never overwhelmed by intrusive interventions: the long macerations guarantee a complete polyphenolic extraction, while the aging in cask regulates the evolution of the wine without transferring excessive woody contributions.

All this means that the wines of Le Ragnaie tell the territory of origin in a linear way, also thanks to a capillary selection of grapes per vineyard and separate vinifications. Rosso di Montalcino respects these prerogatives, presenting in the glass the purest characteristics of the fruit in a crystalline manner, with a long persistence on the palate that elevates it to the status of an illustrious representative of its category.
