Baron Ugo di Monteraponi is a strong red wine with a solid structure produced in Chianti, in Radda, near Siena. The cellar is run by the Braganti family which produces elegant and fine bottles starting from organic farming. The utmost attention is paid to every step, from the viticulture process to the vinification, to give light to a special and well-executed liquid, as this Chianti proves to be.

The Baron Ugo red from the Monteraponi winery is assembled from Sangiovese grapes with the addition of a small percentage of Canaiolo and Colorino. The bunches are harvested manually by carefully selecting the grapes before moving on to pressing which tries to keep the skins intact. Once pressed, the grapes macerate on the skins for 30/35 days with daily pumping over and punching down by hand. Once the alcoholic fermentation is completed, the malolactic fermentation follows. Both occur spontaneously in vitrified concrete, without the aid of bacteria, starters or feeders that facilitate the start of the processes. Aging takes place in large oval French or Slavonian oak barrels for at least 36 months. It concludes aging for a further 3 months in vitrified concrete, where the wine naturally decants before being bottled by gravity without filtration and clarification. Further 6 months of bottle aging follow.

The very light red color refers to typicality from beyond the Alps. Clean, luminous and bright, with reflections that turn to garnet, a deep nose in its "earth" expression, explosive in the red fruit of cherry and currant, floral, delicate, in purple. Excellent on the palate because you immediately feel that it has the makings of a champion, capable of being elegant and refined. Rich and energetic in acidity, tannins are well executed. Only in great vintages.
