The Redigaffi is a pure Merlot which owes its name to a small stream that flows near the property. When in 1994 Rita and Virgilio stole two Merlot barriques from production, perhaps they did not think they had created what would become an international cult-wine. From those vineyards planted in 1988, in the heart of the company on a slight slope, an exceptional fruit was born. Their position, the composition of the soils and the microclimate in their combination had given life to this unique wine of its kind. A pure Merlot that has rightfully entered history, with those 100/100 given by Robert Parker for the 2000 vintage, which is constantly sold in the main auction houses in the world. One of the great flagship wines of Italy abroad.
The 2017 Redigaffi by Tua Rita presents itself to the sight of a bright ruby red. On the nose there are sensations of crunchy red fruit, oriental spices, cumin, tobacco, soft balsamic notes on light cocoa powder, red flowers, freshly worked leather and almost ferrous minerality. Great balance emerges on the palate, it is warm, fresh, with rampant tannins that run through the elegantly long finish.
