Today the Vallepicciola winery has made great strides and has an area of ​​265 hectares, of which 65 are dedicated to viticulture, which will become 100 with the new plants. Sangiovese is the king of the area, flanked by international classics such as Cabernet, Pinot Nero, Petit Verdot and Chardonnay, which have adapted perfectly to these noble lands. The winery was designed by architect Margherita Gozzi and is a beautiful model of eco-sustainability. In fact it is buried in a natural basin and has been designed with great respect for the environment. The 6000 square meters of the structure are spread over three floors, two of which are underground and dedicated exclusively to the phases of vinification, aging and storage. The only portion above ground is intended for receptions and more commercial functions. However, what fascinates and tempts us to know this reality is the quality of the wines produced, always surprising and extraordinary.

With such a vast territorial mosaic, which alternates clay, marl, tuff, sand and sandstone soils, it is clear that there is an incredible variability, capable of giving wines with all different nuances. The different exposure, the morphology of the territory and the prestigious Chianti terroir are the main ingredients to give birth to labels with a unique and special character. The oenological management uses the most modern technologies and the precious technical advice of the oenologist Riccardo Cottarella. Refinements take place mainly in wood in the deepest rooms of the estate.

Vallepicciola wines breathe and taste of Tuscany. They are conceived from that intrinsic relationship between man and nature and, even more so, from that puzzle born from the fusion of the elements of the territory: castles, villages and vineyards. The collection boasts three lines for Chianti: Classico, Gran Selezione and Riserva. In addition, there are reds based on Bordeaux grapes such as Pievasciata and Quercegrosse and whites with an international flavor. Also very interesting is the logo of the estate that shows the messy face of King Berardo. Legend has it that the king, after years of conquest, arrived in the saddle of his horse in Tuscany in search of a new land to conquer. Tired and torn, he found shelter in a cellar in the VallePicciola. The inhabitants offered him a goblet of their best wine and at the first sip his beard stood up, at the second taste one eye became pious and at the third it bent. The king was so fascinated by that wine that he decided to found his royal residence in those lands. In short, the prestigious Vallepicciola labels are born between legend, modernity and tradition.
