Everything revolves around the name of Vittorio Fiore, born in 1941, a native of the province of Bolzano and a professional wine consultant. We are at the beginning of the 70s, when Vittorio, after completing his studies first in San Michele all'Adige and then in Conegliano, begins to collaborate with some important wineries in northern Italy, actually embarking on a path that, shortly thereafter , will take him to move to Tuscany, where he will arrive exactly in 1979. But Vittorio Fiore's real dream in the drawer materializes in 1991, when together with his wife Adriana Assjè di Marcorà, he buys on the Ruffoli hill, in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, some uncultivated plots of land, among which there were also ancient abandoned vineyards. This is how the Podere Poggio Scalette winery was born, today a company that has about fifteen hectares of vineyards, and produces an average of over 65,000 bottles a year. Alongside Vittorio and his wife Adriana, currently there are also his sons Jurij, Roberto and Alessandro, who are respectively responsible for corporate coordination, the Italian market and the foreign market. Among the rows, there are plants that reach up to 85 years of age, and the Sangiovese variety is the absolute dominant. Vines that grow on soils mainly composed of sand and marl, are meticulously cared for, and produce grapes as pure as they are precious. Bunches that in the cellar are processed and interpreted following and respecting the most ancient peasant traditions, so as to obtain wines to be considered, without a shadow of a doubt, among the best in the Chianti Classico area. Characterized by a natural finesse and characterized by a particular stylistic elegance, from the "Carbonaione" to the "Capogatto", the labels that carry the name of "Podere Poggio Scalette" superimposed, are all synonymous with excellent and precious wines of high quality , modern but at the same time highly territorial.
