"Two hundred years ago the Moris family left Spain to reach the Tuscan Maremma, a divine land of wine: a dream of love came true. Fresh and genuine love for a land still virgin, barely touched by the cumbersome presence of man and yet rich in extraordinary natural resources that only hands in love could have enhanced. Love also and above all for wine, which finds its ideal environment in these countryside and which was already a splendid passion for the Moris family". The Poggetti farm of the Moris family, which, as the company itself mentions, has been cultivating olive trees and vines on the Tuscan hills for over two hundred years, extends in one of the most beautiful places in the Maremma, right at the end of the Metalliferous Hills, and overlooks the sea. Despite the fact that the farm is a historical reality for the area, the turning point in the wine-growing and wine-producing sector began in 1977 when Adolfo Parentini married Caterina Moris and totally changed the face of the company, which began to equip itself from a simple farm to become a place of high-level viticulture. Both in the Morellino di Scansano DOC and in the Monteregio di Massa Marittima DOC, the company does not neglect a remarkable dynamism in the choice of grape varieties, the type of planting and the technologies used. The altitude of the land varies from 80 to 100 metres above sea level. The exposure of the rows is south-west. The current extension of the land is 476 hectares scattered between Massa Marittima, of which 40 hectares of vineyards that fall under the DOC "Monteregio di Massa Marittima", and about 60 hectares in Poggio la Mozza, of which 30 hectares fall under the DOC "Morellino di Scansano". The Morisfarms company has been producing wines in the Tuscan Maremma for years in two different companies. One for the now established DOC of Morellino di Scansano and the other for the younger DOC of Monteregio di Massa Marittima. The most important wine is the Avvoltore, an IGT of the Tuscan Maremma produced only in the best vintages since 1988. Since 2004 a Vermentino has also been produced, a white grape that adapts very well to the climate of the Maremma. The farm is flanked by an agritourism that hosts tastings and comparisons on the wonderful wine world of Maremma.
