A splendid valley - that of San Lorenzo - overlooked by some of the best vineyards in the Chianti Classico area: vines belonging to old plants, from which the grapes are harvested to obtain this Grand Selection of Castello di Ama. A red that ranks at the qualitative heights of its denomination, characterized by a remarkable harmony in the aromas, and by a velvety and energetic taste at the same time. This Chianti Classico will introduce you to all the power of the Sangiovese of Tuscany, letting you understand at the same time how much elegance the lands of Chianti are able to give. It is a red that ages for a year in barrique, but above all it is a red that, without fear of anything, holds up the comparison with all the greatest Sangiovese-based wines with closed eyes.

The refinement lasts for 12 months in barriques, partly first passage and partly used, and for another 24 months in the bottle. Thus was born the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "San Lorenzo", one of the flagship wines of Castello di Ama which with the 2010 vintage entered sixth place in the Top 100 ranking for Wine Spectator.
