The Ferrari winery is an institution of Italian sparkling wine, a true symbol of excellence of Trentino bubbles. It was born in 1902 from the brilliant intuitions of Giulio Ferrari, animated by the dream of creating bottles that could compare with the best Champagne. Having remained faithful all his life to a rigorous and continuous search for quality and elegance, Giulio was a great and legendary pioneer of the Classical Method and contributed to spreading Chardonnay in Italy. After the first successes, the sparkling wine house was taken over in 1952 by the heir Bruno Lumelli who, animated by a deep passion for the production of bubbles, continued the meticulous work in the vineyard and in the cellar, becoming an international reference point. Today the winery, led by the Lunelli family, continues to represent an undisputed symbol of Made in Italy in the wine sector and to produce bubbles known and appreciated all over the world.
The Trento DOC Ferrari sparkling wine collection, characterized by a unique and inimitable style, comes from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes that come in part from the company's vineyards but above all from a vast network of selected donors, which cover about 800 hectares of vineyards located on the Trentino hills . A rigorous selection of the grapes, designed to keep the quality standard of the vast production high, leads the Lunelli family to discard about 20% of the grapes harvested every year. The decision to convert the vineyards to the organic regime represents a further step of loyalty and consistency with the principles of the founder and is contributing significantly to the promotion of sustainable mountain viticulture. The more than 500 families of winegrowers are also asked to comply with strict ecological standards that provide for the total refusal of herbicides and synthetic pesticides. The grapes harvested manually at the end of the summer are brought to the cellar, where the pressing takes place and then a first fermentation. After the creation of the cuvées, the wines are bottled with sugars and yeasts which contribute to triggering the second fermentation in the bottle. Depending on the type, a long rest on the lees between two and ten years is expected.
Spumante Trento Doc and Ferrari are two inextricably linked realities: the union between a territory particularly suited as Trentino and the work of the Lunelli family has created bottles of absolute value that have made the history of the territory. Today about 15 different labels are produced, divided into 5 high-profile collections that flawlessly reflect the criteria of elegance, finesse and quality. Every year this great sparkling wine company stands out in the panorama of international bubbles for professionalism and dedication to the territory, confirming its role as leader in the enhancement of Italian excellence in the world.
