At the beginning of the 2000s, Franco Ziliani, owner of Guido Berlucchi and pioneer of the birth of the Classic Method in Franciacorta in the 60s, decides to bet on an emerging territory such as Bolgheri in Tuscany with the aim of trying his hand at the creation of great red wines. The estate is located in Castagneto Carducci in the hamlet of Bolgheri and was born from the renovation of an ancient hunting estate owned by the noble Della Gherardesca family, dated 1868. The farmhouse, thanks to careful redevelopment work in full respect of the surrounding area, was expanded and transformed into the current location of the cellar. The property consists of about 30 hectares of land of which 23 are vineyards. The age of the vines varies from 13 to 23 years and are divided into four real crus: San Biagio, Le Grottine, Cantina and Le Bozze. The new Caccia Al Piano winery, whose construction was completed in 2014, represents the perfect blend of integration with the surrounding territory, propensity for modernism and attention to detail.
