The Serraiola Agricultural Company is located on the border between the provinces of Grosseto and Livorno in one of the most beautiful and unknown areas of the Tuscan Maremma. It covers an area of 40 hectares owned by the Lenzi family since the late 1960s. Viticultural and olive-growing crops are favored from the outset.
The first vineyards date back to the 1970s, then the vineyards were replanted with more appropriate clonal choices. The vineyard extension is 10 hectares of which 7 are red berried, mainly Sangiovese, in the new plants, Merlot. The remaining 3 hectares of white grapes, the classic Trebbiano and Malvasia flanked by Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Treminer and an experimental vineyard of Vermentino only. From the 1994 harvest, D.O.C.wines have been produced. Monteregio di Massa Marittima, a new D.O.C. Tuscany which includes the area north of the Maremma.
Serraiola also has 2.5 hectares of specialized olive groves, the olives are cold pressed and the oil bottled.
