Among the undoubtedly mythical champagnes, RD is rightly included, which is not exactly Bollinger's cuvée de prestige (in fact, the Aÿ maison does not have this type of champagne, which, at the limit, could be identified in La Grande Année), but it is, instead, its most iconic and, in some ways, revolutionary champagne. It was 1967 when the maison, at the behest of Mme Bollinger herself, launched a very particular vintage on the market: a re-edition of the Bollinger Vintage 1952, where re-edition meant that the champagne had remained on the lees much longer than the original. .

This great Champagne rests on its sediments for very long years. The dégorgement is carried out only at the exit from the cellar. The result is a Champagne that sees its aromas exalted indefinitely. "R.D." of Bollinger has a color that turns towards golden tones, further embellished by the fine and very lively perlage. Surprisingly, the first impact on the nose is that of a fresh, almost still young scent, which then opens up to sweet notes of honey and ripe fruit, dried fruit, an aniseed spice and the enveloping texture of biscuit. Introduced in the mouth, this Champagne clearly shows its class, given by a creamy and engaging but fresh and very mineral sip.
