The Chianti Classico Riserva "Il Poggio" is undoubtedly the most representative product of the Castello di Monsanto, the most sought after and best known in the world. A Chianti Classico Riserva able to tell the story of this fascinating winery in Val d'Elsa that took shape from the intuition and passion of Aldo Bianchi who, together with his son Fabrizio, between the 60s and 80s gave birth to one of the wineries, to date, the most important and recognized in the Chianti area.

A winery located in a magical territory, in the heart of a hypothetical circle that connects Livorno to the West, Florence to the North, Arezzo to the East and Siena to the South, a few steps from Volpaia, Radda and Castellina in Chianti, Fonterutoli and Monteriggioni, with behind the fascinating view of the Towers of San Gimignano. Emotions and passions that in the Bianchi family have generated the desire to leave a mark that soon became absolutely indelible in the history of wine.

The Chianti Classico Riserva "Il Poggio" is the perfect example: it comes from the vineyard of the same name, planted for the first time in 1962 with cuttings of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. It ages for at least 20 months in French oak barrels and is produced only in the best vintages. It is the soul of the Monsanto Castle, the pride of this Tuscan winery, a crescendo of wide and complex sensations that give black cherry and violet, with a finish just hinted at noble wood and spices. Intense, with great character, with a long and warm finish, it is the emblem of this territory ...
