The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Il Grigio" is the highest qualitative expression of the historic Tuscan appellation. The San Felice estate produces this prestigious label only with the best grapes of the most suitable parcels. At the base of the wine is Sangiovese, the typical vine of the area, to which are added small percentages of other native grapes of the Chianti area, such as: Abrusco, Malvasia Nera, Ciliegiolo, Pugnitello and Mazzese. The long aging of the wood helps to give the wine a complex, harmonious and elegant profile.

"Il Grigio" is the spearhead of the San Felice winery. Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, in Castelnuovo della Berardenga, the estate is made up of many fine vineyards. The grapes of the Gran Selezione come exclusively from vineyards grown in localities Colti, Pianaccio and Chiesamonti, on medium-textured soils rich in skeleton. These are soils of calcareous-marly matrix originating from the disintegration of Alberese and Galestro that rest on a substrate of mother rock. The different varieties are vinified separately with fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C and maceration on the skins for about three weeks. Aged for 24 months in 60-100 hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels and in French oak barriques and tonneau. Finishes with 8 months of aging bottle.

The Chianti Gran Selezione "Il Grigio" from the Tuscan winery San Felice is the perfect label to discover the potential that Sangiovese can express in the Castelnuovo della Berardenga area. It shows an intense ruby ​​color with light garnet hues. The nose opens on delicate aromas of violet, cherry, small berries, spices, licorice root, noble woods and slightly toasted nuances. On the palate it immediately denotes good body, with rich and complex aromas accompanied by a thick tannic texture. The finish is fresh and persistent.
