From a skillful blend of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave comes Soave Classico, a fresh and young wine produced by the Pieropan winery, a historical reality of the area. It was in fact in 1890 that Leonildo Pieropan, a doctor in the village of Soave, decided to begin to try his hand at wine production, starting from the vineyards owned by the family. A path made of hard work and passion, which today sees in Leonildo, grandson of the founder, the figure who has succeeded in making Pieropan a modern and technological winery; an avant-garde structure, where the ancient peasant traditions are never forgotten, but rather always represent the basis from which to create authentic labels, just like this Soave.
Soave Classico is a DOC white wine that the Pieropan winery produces by adding 10% Trebbiano di Soave to 90% Garganega. Two traditional grape varieties of the territory, which grow in vineyards of volcanic origin at an altitude between 100 and 300 meters above sea level. The grapes, carefully selected, ferment at a controlled temperature of 16 degrees Celsius in vitrified cement tanks, where they remain to refine on the fine lees until the following spring, when bottling is scheduled.
This Soave Classico by Pieropan presents itself to the eye with a straw yellow color, crossed by light greenish reflections. The scents that envelop the nose are decisive, and are structured on well-defined floral notes. On the palate it has a slender, light body, with a fully satisfying sip that presents an excellent flavor; it ends with a finish characterized by a slight almond aftertaste. It is a bottle with which the Pieropan winery expresses the youngest and most dynamic traits of one of the most important DOC of the whole Veneto region.
