The conviction of the centrality of the vineyard, the incessant search for excellence in quality and the renewal of winemaking processes have characterized the Pieropan identity for four generations, now carried on by the grandson of the founder Leonildo, his wife Teresita and their children Andrea and Dario. From the exasperated attention and selection of the best grapes, all the wines of the Pieropan family are born: in particular from Calvarino, one of the most famous Cru di Soave in the region.
The Calvarino vineyard is located in the heart of the classic Soave area and represents for the company the oldest family estate, purchased in the early 1900s. The name Calvarino derives from "small calvary", due to the difficulty of tilling the soil and the tortuous path needed to reach the bottom. From this splendid and complicated terroir comes the most characteristic of the Soave signed by Pieropan, with its marked varietal notes and distinctive freshness.
