The Fagnani wines are a selection of the family of the same name that are produced at the Azienda Agricola Bellaria, located in one of the most evocative and characteristic areas of the Montalcino area, where vines have been grown since 1765.
Here since 2006, Pierino Fagnani (known as Bagoga), grandson of the owners of the company, begins to select the grapes that will make up his wines in order to make a production in his name.
Today the company is carried on in the cellar by Gianni Bernazzi and FrancescoFagnani who enhance the soul of their wines. The valuable experience gained over the years, the appeal
to consolidated and innovative techniques and ideal territorial presuppositions are a guarantee of products of extraordinary quality in full and precious respect for the element
natural. The meticulous care of the vines and the environment combined with a rigorous selection are the fundamental prerequisites for the authenticity of their wines, with an original character that fully expresses the simplicity of a unique and extraordinary terroir.
THE TERRITORY
The vineyards of the property extend over about 4 hectares and enjoy a temperatomicroclimate with cool summers and harsh winters that contribute to the
to the highest expression of Sangiovese grosso. Even the peculiar specificity of the soil, which is soft, well ventilated and receptive to heat, means that the vine finds its ideal habitat here and allows the production of wines of the highest quality.
WORK IN THE CELLAR
The Sangiovese grapes are harvested manually in the last week of September, after a first selection in the vineyard at the beginning of the month. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with frequent pumping over, to obtain a good extraction of the coloring and structure components. A subsequent long aging in wood will allow the wines to obtain excellent stability and an increase in aromatic and structural complexity.
ARTIST LABELS
The Fagnani family has decided to celebrate the labels of their wines with a project called "artist labels". The labels represent some representations of Montalcino and are signed by Daniele Cestari and Luca Greghi.
