BARONE DI VILLA GRANDE ETNA ROSSO 2020

Coming from the renowned lands of Milo and Castiglione di Sicilia, this Nero d'Avola embodies the authenticity and winemaking tradition of the island. With a composition of 80% Nerello Mascalese, enriched by 20% Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mantellato, this wine is a true tribute to the richness of Sicily's native vines.

Cultivated with care and respect for the land, the vineyards produce a yield of 50 hectoliters per hectare, giving the wine a unique concentration and complexity. Fermentation takes place in steel, with a maceration of 6-10 days which allows the wine to acquire its extraordinary structure and depth. Subsequently, the refinement takes place in 500 liter chestnut barrels for 12 months, followed by bottling 18 months after the harvest, allowing the wine to reach its maximum expression.

At the serving temperature of 18°C, the wine appears in the glass with an intense ruby red colour, bright and fluid, anticipating an extraordinary sensorial experience. On the nose, floral hints of violet and fresh forest fruit emerge, followed by light herbaceous notes that complete the aromatic bouquet.

Upon tasting, the wine reveals all its complexity and harmony. Despite the presence of well-structured tannins, the wine stands out for its softness and its marked acidity, balanced by a fresh and persistent fruit that persists for a long time on the palate.

It is a versatile wine that lends itself beautifully to accompanying a wide range of dishes. Perfect with cuts of red meat and tuna, it also goes beautifully with sea and land roasts, enhancing the intense and enveloping flavors of the dishes. Furthermore, it pairs perfectly with cured meats from the Nebrodi mountains and with sweet and sour dishes, confirming its versatility on the table.
