The more than 500 years of history make this company the most successful wine-growing reality in Friuli Venezia Giulia. In 1932 the company was bought by Arnaldo
Bennati and today it is managed by his wife, Giuseppina Grossi, wisely combining respect for tradition with enthusiasm for the enological future.
Located on a small plateau a few kilometers from Slovenia, it marks the border between two historic Friuli DOC areas: Collio and Isonzo, the wines, therefore,
they belong to the two different denominations. The wines produced are suitable for any tasting occasion
and lend themselves in an excellent way to multiple gastronomic combinations. One of the cornerstones of the company is its great sensitivity to biodiversity and environmental protection, to make the most of territorial happiness through the most advanced agronomic and vitivinicultural research.
THE WINES
The area planted with vines in the DOC Friuli Isonzo today represents a fundamental resource of the company's production.
The alluvial plain of the Isonzo, composed of layers of sandstone and gravel, gives rise to grapes with a natural freshness and minerality that best express the varietal aromas. The property of Tenuta Villanova is graphically represented on the labels of the Isonzo Line, redesigned on the basis of the old map of the Estate with the one in the center that is still today the area in which the company is located.
The vines of the DOC Collio are located in a portion of land of rare beauty, tempered by the Alpine winds and the Adriatic breezes.
This privileged position gives rise to characteristic wines with a warm and velvety flavor component.
Experts in vineyard chiselling, Tenuta Villanova expresses the art of wine just a step away from Gorizia, the city where the ancient tradition of the "merlettogoriziano" took shape.
The new labels of the Colli Line therefore take up the style of the famous bobbin bobbin lace.
