Once the Bolgheri estate was identified, the purchase required so long negotiations that it was given the name of Ca 'Marcanda, precisely in memory of continuous haggling. It is a farm near via Bolgherese, in one of the most suitable areas of all, which extends over a hundred hectares, cultivated with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, all international varieties particularly suited to the microclimate of the area , characterized by an extraordinary brightness and by the presence of the mild breezes of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Within a few years, Angelo Gaja's Tuscan wines have attracted the attention of connoisseurs as some of the best interpretations of the territory of the Tuscan coast, in the name of elegance and expressive refinement.
