Each castle has its ruler, each king has its prince. Then there is the king, his majesty "Masseto" and then there is the prince, the "Massetino".

A Rosso di Toscana that makes its debut on the international wine scene, presenting itself as a "second" wine, just like the great Bordeaux Châteaux do, which by tradition always place a "second choice" alongside the top label. The "Massetino", however, is second to none. Lush and powerful, he has character to spare and nothing to envy to his older brother.

Massetino is a red wine obtained from a blend mainly of Merlot, with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, coming from some parcels of the vineyard that have been replanted and show great potential. Obtained from hand-picked and selected grapes, carefully de-stemmed and gently pressed. Vinified partly in steel and partly in wood, followed by aging in barriques for about 15 months.
Harvested in ideal conditions, the 2018 vintage is characterized by a particularly harmonious and balanced profile. The Massetino shows a dark ruby ​​color with violet reflections. The nose is very expressive, dominated by lively and ripe cherry fruits, with spicy and balsamic nuances and a touch of toasted oak. On the palate it is elegant, with a compact and silky texture and refined tannins that support a brilliant and pure expression of fruit. The finish shows notes of vanilla followed by a sensation of mineral freshness.
