Pian del Ciampolo 2021

Pian del Ciampolo Montevertine is a Sangiovese-based wine, very agile and fine, with a balance that borders on perfection. Born from the experience of Montevertine, a historic winery located in the Chianti hills, famous for its important and prestigious reds and for the significant link with the Chianti area.

Pian del Ciampolo is a red that comes from young Sangiovese vines and a small percentage of two other typical grapes of the area: Canaiolo and Colorino. These are vineyards located on altitudes ranging from 400 to 600 meters, rooted on composite soils of clay, sand, silt, marl and limestone, in a landscape dominated by woods and steep slopes. After fermentation for about 25 days in concrete tanks, the refinement involves resting the wine in Slavonian oak barrels for a year and then again in concrete and in the bottle (for no less than three months).

Pian del Ciampolo Montevertine has been able to stand out for its role at the table, its agility, its extraordinary ability to elegantly accompany cold cuts, meats and meat dressings. It is therefore a "gastronomic" wine, of great quality and not too complex. The aromas it gives are aromatic and vegetal, leaving the mouth fresh and savory. The tannins are decisive and are felt at the end, together with moderately mineral notes. The cleanliness, the good freshness, the perfect vibration of the flavors make Pian del Ciampolo a wine with a unique and impeccable pleasure, an excellent companion of the table.
