CERETTO NEBBIOLO BERNARDINA 2022

Ceretto's Nebbiolo d'Alba "Bernardina" represents an excellent interpretation of the famous Piedmontese grape, offering a less structured and powerful version compared to the renowned Barolo wines. The shorter and more delicate macerations allow for immediate pleasure and highlight the primary aromas of the grape. Floral notes and delicate fruity nuances emerge on the nose, caressed by light spicy hints. In the mouth it is intense, with a tannic texture already well integrated and a pleasantly fresh finish.

The "Bernardina" of Cantina Ceretto is obtained exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes coming from the vineyards of the historic Tenuta Monsordo-Bernardina, located on the borders of the Barolo production area, benefiting from the same climate and quality terroir, characterized by the renowned marls of the Langhe. The vineyards, located approximately 300 meters above sea level, grow on soils rich in clay, silt and sand, ideal for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. After the harvest, fermentation follows in steel vats at a controlled temperature and a 14-month refinement in barriques, of which 20% are new and the rest already used. The refinement is completed with a further 3 months in the bottle.

Nebbiolo "Bernardina" is an ideal red wine to accompany at the table when you want to enjoy a quality Nebbiolo without necessarily focusing on the prestigious labels of Barolo or Barbaresco. The more delicate vinification and the shorter aging in wood, with a predominance of already used barriques, allow the Nebbiolo to best express its elegant varietal characteristics, immediately proving pleasant to drink without long waits. Bright ruby red in colour, the nose opens with aromas of violet, rose petals, raspberry and small red fruits, accompanied by light spicy and woody notes. In the mouth it is medium-bodied, with a pleasant tannic structure, intense fruit and a fresh and savory finish.
