Teroldego, a winemaking jewel of the enchanting Piana Rotaliana, is a living testimony to Trentino's rich winemaking tradition. Its name may derive from the German "Tiroler-Gold" (Tyrolean Gold), underlining its prestigious history and its role as "Prince" among the wines of the region.
The vineyards that give life to this noble wine are carefully selected in the DOC area of the municipalities of Mezzocorona and Mezzolombardo. Here, the cultivation follows the Trentino tradition, with pergola for some of the vines and guyot for others, on gravelly soils enriched with a thin layer of humus.
The harvest, carried out rigorously by hand after careful summer thinning, ensures superior quality grapes. In the cellar, the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in steel and oak barrels at a controlled temperature, followed by a one-year refinement in large oak barrels.
Teroldego has an intense ruby red color and a pleasantly fruity aroma, rich in notes of blackberries and raspberries. On the palate, it reveals a soft, enveloping and persistent flavour, thanks to its balanced structure and harmonious tannins.
Due to its versatility, Teroldego lends itself to pairing with a vast range of dishes, from the elegance of first courses to the succulence of red and white meats, up to the complexity of cheeses, offering a complete and satisfying gastronomic experience.
