Endrizzi represents a milestone in the wine history of Trentino, being not only a historic winery, but the historic winery par excellence of the region. Its history has its roots back in 1885, a period in which Trentino was part of the Austro-Hungarian kingdom.

The origins of the winemaking tradition in San Michele all'Adige date back to the Middle Ages, when the Augustinian monks of the Abbey contributed to the spread of vine cultivation, taking care of the ancient vineyards which today are an integral part of Endrizzi. Historical chronicles tell of a fierce battle fought by Napoleon in 1797 to conquer Masetto, a tangible sign of the strategic importance of this land for viticulture.

It was in 1885 that Francesco and Angelo Endrici (or Endrizzi, as they became known in the local dialect) created the winery, establishing the headquarters in the Masetto area, where the company still has its core today. These bold pioneers introduced two of the most renowned vines in the world in the early 1900s: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as Lagrein, a local vine, and Teroldego, native and symbol of the region. The leadership of the winery was succeeded by Francesco's son, Romano, who was also President of the Province of Trento, and his nephew Franco, who led the Trentino Wine Committee for twenty years, contributing to the recognition and valorization of Trentino wines at a national level and international.
